GreenWin: innovation catalyst in green chemistry

GreenWin, the competitiveness cluster for environmental technologies in Wallonia, aims at facilitating the generation of innovative projects in the region. More than 13 topics are discussed regularly in working groups bringing together academic experts and industrialists from the chemicals and biotech sector.

GreenWin encompasses 31 projects which have been approved and funded by the Walloon Government with a total budget in excess of 80 million euro. In 2016, it managed two European projects that have placed Walloon sustainable chemistry on the European map: the SCOT project on CO2 valorisation (which has since become a major innovation theme and a topic taken up by the European Commission), and LCIP (Life Cycle in practice), aimed at raising awareness among SMEs about the use of the “Life Cycle Analysis” tool.
