Prayon’s Puurs production site has launched a participative project to reduce the energy consumption of its production line. Several brainstorming sessions were organized involving operators, management and engineers, to identify possible sources of energy losses and develop solutions to address these issues.
Measures to tackle the over-consumption of energy fall into five different categories:
- Adapting the installations
- Operational follow-up of the processes
- Organization and training
Priorities were identified and a number of actions taken, resulting in one case in a reduction of 15% in steam consumption.
Global energy consumption is monitored on a monthly basis and compared with set targets. Prayon is committed to continuing this exercise and expanding it to other production lines on the site to further reduce its energy consumption
