essenscia fully supporting the STEM Charter

In 2015, essenscia vlaanderen, together with five companies in the sector, signed the STEM Charter in the presence of Minister of Education, Hilde Crevits and Minister of Economy and Innovation, Philippe Muyters. The scientific and technical expertise of its employees is one of the most important assets of the Belgian chemicals, plastics and life sciences industry, and it is crucial for the future of the sector to attract even more talented and creative youngsters to study Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.

Through the STEM Charter – an initiative of the STEM Platform – government, knowledge centres, social partners, sector organisations and the education and business worlds are working together to inspire young people to choose STEM subjects. Companies such as Agfa Materials, Air Liquide, Allnex, BASF Antwerp, Covestro, Deceuninck, Eastman Chemical Company, Janssen Pharmaceutica, Nippon Shokubai Europe, Proviron, Solvay and VYNOVA are also supporting the Charter.
