Students from high schools and universities gather at a castle in Namur and are given two days to come up with innovative solutions to solve challenges companies face in their daily business. This is the concept behind the Innovation Camp Chemistry and Life Sciences, an initiative launched by essenscia wallonie and Les Jeunes Entreprises with the support of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

Last year, Quality Assistance, Realco, Total and UCB accompanied and coached 80 students during this marathon effort, which aims at stimulating the creativity and entrepreneurship of students and putting them in touch with chemical and pharmaceutical companies active in Wallonia and Brussels.

The Magaf and UCB team won the jury’s prize for their “Life + Bracelet”, a device imagined to improve the life of patients suffering from chronic disease. The bracelet would allow them to send a request for help to a database of volunteers located nearby. The proposed innovation integrates patients into society and brings them closer to their communities, while raising public awareness of people with chronic diseases.

The Innovation Chemistry and Life Sciences provides a great opportunity for companies to get in touch with students who could be their employees of the future.
